DeVos / DeAngelis in bed with UNESCO
Corey DeAngelis, according to him, is an atheist, a Libertarian, a lobbyist, and
represents UN interests in American education in the push for government regulated, Universal School Choice.
To be clear before we dive into who Corey DeAngelis is, it is important to note; the idea for vouchers and tuition tax credits and the public/private charter school choice movement is NOT an idea that stems from “Grassroots America” but rather is an idea that originated within the Department of Education in concert with the New American School Development Corporation. The popular concept of “Choice” in education via means of federal tax dollars will eliminate all choice as private, parochial, and home schools are quietly merged with the public system to form a national school system complete with “national” curriculum implemented through Online Digital Learning.
The fact that Corey DeAngelis, the face of the “school choice” movement (who is
traveling the nation and appearing in the media to advocate for these types of universal school choice bills to be passed) has been discovered to be an expert for UNESCO’s Inclusive Policy Lab and a member of their E- TEAM, Education and Digital Skills should be very concerning to you. The purpose of UNESCO’s Inclusive Policy Lab is to “help design and deliver more inclusive, equity-weighted, and SDG- oriented policies.” Considering that passing these bills would assist in making UNESCO’s vision of regulating private education become a reality, it begs the question as to why Corey DeAngelis is involved with both.
The United States membership in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1946 set in motion the destabilization of our society through the rejection of absolute morals and values, Judeo-Christian tradition, and Roman law. Legislation authorizing United States membership in UNESCO marked the end of United States autonomy in a very crucial area: that of education. From this time on UNESCO would dictate education policy to our government and others.” (Deliberate Dumbing Down of America) (p.27)
Please note… “School Choice” has nothing to do with failing schools and liberal indoctrination; it is a well planned and very well-funded global takeover of America’s education system. Need proof? Just listen to this video that includes a speech of then President George Bush Sr. In 1991.
Did you know…As former U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos (Founder of American
Federation of Children) signed on to a radical global “declaration.” The declaration, produced at the first ever “Education Working Group” of the Group of 20 (G20) network of governments and dictatorships, was titled ‘Building consensus for fair and sustainable development.” How free nations can build “consensus” on “education”
- The DeVos signed Declaration demanded more data-gathering and – mining. “We recognize the value of policies based on evidence and the importance of having robust and comprehensive learning assessment systems and data in order to measure progress and learning outcomes, to help ensure quality education for all at all stages of life,”
- The agreement also demands further globalization of education. For instance, it calls for “international investment in education,” a theme consistent with the ongoing globalization of education under the UN’s extremist “education” agency known as UNESCO.
- “We acknowledge the role of existing and potential international mechanisms for financing education,” the document continues.
Do you know who one of the key players is behind the curtain funding and pushing the “School Choice” movement in Texas? YES- Betsy DeVos.
What stands in their way? Parents and locally elected school boards.
Last session the Texas Legislature tried to pass HB1 a School Choice omnibus bill that would give the venture capitalists access to ALL students in all educational choices. Don’t buy the lies that this is for the children. This is about a “captive market” for profit and our children, and the education data they produce along with our tax dollars are their greatest commodities. This is beyond unethical. It is immoral and evil to use our children for profit.
Did you know… Betsy DeVos was a key player in getting the Common Core into every state of the country? Even in Texas!! In Texas they rebranded it and called it College and Career Readiness Standards, which are what our Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) are aligned to as mandated by federal law from the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Ms. DeVos supports allowing big technology companies to data mine children, 50,000 data points per hour, without parents knowing about it or ever seeing how the data is shared, used and profiled.
DeVos was the Chair of The Philanthropy Round Table, a group that focuses on Venture Capital Philanthropy (and making “serious money “) and promotes computer-based data mining. And, as an added bonus this group once chaired by DeVos, is also excited about Bill Gates philanthropy and the Common Core. If you think there is not money to be made by venture capitalists in education reform and the School Choice movement. Think again. Just listen and learn. Robert Bortins CEO of Classical Conversations clearly lays it out.
To be clear, government regulated “School Choice”, as seen in the last TX legislative session with HB 1, limits parental rights. It does not expand them. Much like “Universal Healthcare” which has been a huge governmental failure destroying our healthcare system and the health and lives of many Americans, “Universal School Choice” is the same tactic used within the education system and will also do great harm to Texas children. Corey DeAngelis is even using the same talking points as Universal Healthcare. “If you like your government school, you can keep your government school.” Sounds an awful lot like.. “If you like your Dr. you can keep your Dr.”. That did not turn out to be the case in Obamacare.
The mantra that parents should be able to “take the money that belongs to them” and “choose what education is best for their child” offers hope to droves of desperate parents looking for an easy exit to an incompetent system that seems hell-bent on indoctrinating their kids. Unfortunately, those same proponents who are very vocal when it comes to the supposed benefits of ESAs and vouchers are eerily silent when it comes to being honest about the strings, online digital learning and the Next Generation of Assessments and Accountability attached to public money and how it will be used to bring regulation into private and homeschools. Remember an algorithm is an opinion written into code. Whoever writes the algorithm controls the outcome. Not the teacher.
One entity who is very transparent about the strings attached to government money is UNESCO, charged with seeing the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 (Quality and Inclusive Education for All) through to completion by 2030.
This subject was addressed in a background paper commissioned for their Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report that was highlighted in the article The Strings of School Choice. In it, the authors lay out how public money funding private schools through school choice (and the public regulation that comes with it) can be utilized “as the main policy option to tackle education inequalities resulting from private actors’ involvement in the provision of education.” The paper states that the regulation of evaluation (assessments) and accountability frameworks “play a strategic role in promoting that all publicly funded schools, independently of their ownership, are correctly aligned with quality standards and also with the equity goals and objectives set by the government.” It then describes just some of the “equity”-oriented regulatory strategies than can be enforced in the private education sector.
Corey DeAngelis, the supposed expert is School Choice Education Reform, has a Doctorate from the University of Arkansas. His thesis is on The Societal Impacts of Private School Choice around the World In his abstract he sites Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Cato Institute. According to Forbes magazine he is also Director of School Choice, Reason Foundation in Washington DC, and he is a Senior Fellow at Betsy Devos’ American Federation for Children. His latest PR pitch is as an author of a new book titled, Parent Revolution.
15 pages of credentials, and expertise at only 30 yrs of age seems unimaginable. With his first child on the way, the most important expertise as a parent he does NOT have. How did a 30 year old man with no children become the leader of a ‘Parent Revolution’ in education reform?
Also important to note, DeAngelis has made his money over the years from grants given for him to prove how important the Global Revolution through Education is. And, he personally told me and Ginger Russell at the state capital, he is funded to do his School Choice lobbing by Betsy DeVos’ American Federation for Children.
In my humble opinion, Corey DeAngelis is well groomed and dangerously over educated.
My question is- Will Abbott bullied Republicans end up turning Texas Blue over the government regulated Universal School Choice he is demanding?
All these so-called Conservative Republicans saying they are for School Choice without even knowing what is written into the legislation is a HUGE mistake. The Democrats will use it to take out Republicans. If Texas turns blue it will be on the backs of Republicans pushing this fake Universal School Choice narrative.
All this is happening while NO ONE on the Republican or Democrat side of the aisle is pushing against or exposing Abbott appointed TEA Commissar Mike Morath. The corruption at the TEA is rampant. Morath and his network are taking over locally elected school boards and putting in appointed Superintendents like Mike Miles, who is clearly using the School Choice Charter Schools to funnel Texas Tax dollars out of our state and into the hands of the venture capitalists on both sides of the aisle.
In fact, they all (Republicans and Democrats) voted for Morath’s HB 1605 a law that mentions UNESCO’s Open Education Resources (OER) 44 times and fully implements UNESCO’s Technological takeover of our Children’s future that OBAMA started.
This is why Government regulated School Choice is SO dangerous. They want access to our children in private and homeschools.
The Obama administration created the curriculum curation system, the Learning Registry—and helped their tech giant partners create similar curriculum ratings/curation systems—in order that teachers’ and students’ choices could be manipulated and controlled by state assessment scores.
Obama administration’s Deputy Director of Ed Tech, Steve Midgley, speaking about how OER works.
They state outright that they were starting to curate curriculum to ensure that teachers choose the “most relevant resource.”
Midgley says, “[Through the Registry] we can actually find out this teacher assigned this material; this teacher emailed this to someone else; this teacher dragged it onto a smart board for 18 minutes…” The Registry will also use “the math that I don’t understand which [will] let me know something about who you are and then let me do some mathematical operations against a very large data set and see if I can pair you with the appropriate relevant resource.”
The federal tripod of standards, assessments, and accountability is strangling local curriculum and assessment control. The tripod is being used to access and control what your children learn in the classroom. And, it will, as Obama says… “Connect ALL SCHOOLS”.
I HAVE BEEN WARNING!!
In a historic speech in Cairo, Egypt in June 2009, President Obama expressed his desire to “create a new online network, so a young person in Kansas can communicate instantly with a young person in Cairo.” Since then, the Secretary of State and Secretary of Education have both emphasized the importance of learning other languages, gaining a global competency and traveling to other countries. A number of organizations linking US schools with others around the world are coming together in a new “Connect All Schools” consortium to meet a very specific goal: to connect every school in the US with the world by 2016.
Ed Tech is where the Left and the Right sides of the political aisle merge.
This is How Local Curriculum Control Dies: OER. (Open Education Resources
